i used to hate having to pray out loud to the great bartender in the sky--just to gratify others.

"A Jehovah's Witness"
by NotFormer ina very certain distinctive of jws is how they refer to themselves.
"one of jehovah's witnesses".
it's one of those coded jargon thingies.

GB making their exit before the GT??
by stephenlettclownface indid i misinterpret something or read something wrong?.
did the gb say recently that they are to be dead or pulled out of earthly existence before the great tribulation?.
if so, can someone point me to jw literature or a thread on this topic?.

so--if the GB are to be extracted before it all kicks off---leaving no-one to run the show ?
Best to keep an eye on them: if they all disappear we know the fun will start. But if they dont vanish then life just carries on as normal.

Ages of each user here?
by ukpimo ini'm interested to know the age demographics here.
it must be significantly different to other exjw forums.
it would be a damning report for watchtower if most of us appear to have left for decades.. you don't have to mention your exact age, you could always say "in my 50s".. i am in my 70s.

The true pronunciation of God's name....
by Kosonen ini found a very interesting video by a jewish biblical scholar about how to correctly pronounce jehovah.
it's not yahweh as other scholars claim.. https://youtu.be/4vgxmmbst8w?si=yq7ggwstkpnd3f18.

/\/\ i get that. It was announced i couldnt be d/f--as i wasnt now a JW ( i resigned years earlier ) but i was now deemed to be apostate because of my conduct and treated the same as d/f.
I never got any sort of notification--either a phone call or letter. I found out because one young member told my wife what was announced.
This was over 40 years ago.
